Granada was the last Arab strong hold in Spain. It is an unusually beautiful city as it is on a hill or two. There are many old buildings everywhere that give it a special character. Many of the streets are so narrow only a donkey can pass through. As it is on a couple of hills and is difficult for cars to pass through one has to do a lot of walking to get around town. That is one of the things that made me choose Granada to buy a house. I have to walk a lot and that is very good for your health. A young English boy who was working as a cook next store had to have open heart surgery. He flew back to England for the operation. Many people who have heart problems need to do a lot of exercise. Will started a business as a personal trainer to keep himself moving all the time.To develop his business instead of doing it in a gym he just uses the terrain of Granada as fitness machines. There are steps from the bottom of the section of town where I live up to the famous Alhambra or Arab palace. I use to call a walk up to the Albaicin another hill that was the old Arab quarter, the Albaicin diet. It is so steep just walking up there you lose a kilo. If you want to get fit come to Granada as a tourist for a few days.
